Awards & Nomination Criteria
DIVERSITY CHAMPION AWARD
For company or non-organization or public agency who has made significant contributions to the fair engagement of diversity employees and/or the career development of such employees, specifically with Asians as part of employment concentration. Additionally, your company shall exhibit that you are actively foster and encourage diversity and inclusion within its business model and day-to-day practices.
1. Nominees need to be members of the Chamber and must reside in Bexar County
2. Describe, in as much detail as possible, why you believe the candidate should be granted the award. You may wish to cite specific examples, such as projects, dates, significant accomplishments and impact on the community. You may also submit news articles, press releases, literature, website links and photos, if any, in support.
ASIAN ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
For an individual entrepreneur of Asian heritage whose record of innovation and business success can serve as a role model to aspiring Asian entrepreneurs.
Asian Entrepreneur of the Year nominees also must meet the following criteria and provide supplemental information (A-F):
A. Nominee must be of Asian heritage.
B. Nominee must have a minimum 51% ownership in his/her company and employ a minimum workforce of five.
C. Nominee must list a demonstrable record of business success dating back to at least 2009 (five years). The record of success can include, but is not limited to, a listing of major accomplishments in business, economic development, product innovation, procurement, supplier diversity, employee growth, finance and/or access to capital.
D. Nominations must include a resume or biography providing background such as education, work history, and dates of established business/residency in Bexar County.
E. Nominee must demonstrate leadership capabilities and community service.
F. [Optional] Nominees / nominations are encouraged to include references/letters of endorsement, prior industry recognition, etc. limited to five pages of supporting material.
G. Nominee must be an Alamo AACC member
