Consert’s Jeff Ebihara Named to the
Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce

SAN ANTONIO – Jeff Ebihara, vice president of sales and marketing of Consert Inc., an intelligent energy management company headquartered in San Antonio, has been named to the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) in San Antonio.

“We are thrilled to have Consert represented on our board as well as Jeff’s commitment to help the chamber reach out, collaborate and make a positive impact on San Antonio as we generate awareness about the achievements our Asian American community delivers to the Alamo City,” said Melinda Rodriguez, Alamo AACC president.

The Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce promotes, connects and advocates for Asian-owned businesses and businesses interested in trade and commerce with the Asian community both locally and internationally by creating alliances that support business growth. The chamber has helped bridge the gap for companies that currently or in the future would like to do business in Asia. Today the chamber has a membership of all different ethnicities and is growing at an increasing rate.

Ebihara brings extensive community experience to his position on the board.  A former director on the board of the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce in Holland, Michigan, Ebihara was also elected clerk of Park Township, Michigan in 2004 and re-elected as trustee in 2008.  At the beginning of his career, he served as a management assistant to the city manager in Dallas, Texas and was budget director for the City of Sunrise in Florida.

“Chambers of Commerce play an important role in the community, providing informative programs and extensive networking opportunities,” said Ebihara. “The Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce also does a tremendous job in business development both here and aboard. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board.”

Consert converts electric consumption in homes and small businesses into cost-effective, clean sources of capacity and energy reserves for utilities. The Consert load management solution is based on real-time, wireless technology which allows participants to conserve energy using a web-based, home area network. Consert utilizes the Verizon Wireless network to provide real-time communication to the Consert data center. This highly secure network delivers fast data speeds and increased efficiencies for utilities.

The company relocated its headquarters and senior leadership team to San Antonio last year as part of an agreement with San Antonio-based CPS Energy, the largest municipally owned energy company in the nation providing both gas and electricity, which also will result in the reduction of 250 megawatts of peak demand using Consert’s Virtual Peak PlantTM software. Consert has created several new jobs in San Antonio as a result of the project.
